Critical Mass

This is the last Friday of August, so that means it's Critical Mass! Finally I get to make it to one that isn't during the dead of winter, and hence has more than 9 cyclists. So what vibes do I get from Critical Mass? A friendly large group of riders riding through the city as a unified vehicle. Definitely a reminding statement that bicycles and larger vehicles share the same roads, and that numbers of cyclists is not insignificant. Just experience bike rush hour once along College or even Harbord.

Bike Rave!!!

I rolled up to Christie Pits wondering where the bike ravers would be, and found them instantly by the glowing and the bike-mounted soundsystems. I scrambled to put all the glow sticks on my bike.

On Track!

Toronto didn't have a winter this year. The number of snowfalls worth mentioning and days below -10°C I could count on my hands. What that meant was joyrides all through the winter. Bike rides, that is. The latest took Geoff and I east of the DVP and down near the coal plants where we had antics on the train tracks.

Taking a walk today to do some shopping for my mom's birthday coming up, I found a few fun shots along west queen west.

Three Speed

Went to three speed on the spur of the moment with @Evanjerred on the same rainy night of shooting the dufferin mall. I had no expectations of the place but I like it there. Pretty laid back, pretty lights, good crowd. And bonus, it's a five minute walk from my house. Here are some photos I took of the place.

I definitely had Waupoo's cider and seem to remember getting something else, but I forget.

Blockage on College

College Street this Saturday around Ossington was blocked off for workers to dismantle a crane used to put up the new building in the pictures. This was just one section of many sections of the crane, but gives some insight as to the question of how a crane is set up in the first place. Respect for the workers - with such heavy pieces of machinery to make a small mistake could be disastrous. Pressure is on!

It was fun to watch for a while until I was almost late for an appointment to see a great apartment on College with chickens in the backyard!

I want to ride my bicycle, bicycle, bicycle

$45 bought me one beat-up beautiful bike off the end of the driveway of an old italian guy. After two full days of work on it at Bike Pirates, it was finally rideable. Yesterday, it got a makeover of new bar tape and a new seat! In Belgium this summer I saw people using deflated tubes as bungee cords for the back rack and tried to remember how they did it. Very excited to continue riding this beauty. Thanks, Bike Pirates!
