Paris (Jun 3 - 6) and Switzerland (May 31 - Jun 3)

Bonjour from Paris, epicentre of some pretty serious culture and arts. What more can one ask for than a cafe bistro dinner where there is only one menu, diners get up to pick their wines from the laden shelves lining the walls, and your table is 4 inches (excusez moi, centimètres) away from your neighbours from Norway to whom it is impossible not to talk.

Then there are the churches, monuments, galleries... The Louvre is massive and grand. A diverse collection of works from across time and space so fascinating that I forgot to photograph.

My favourite shot in Paris - no idea what the building is though!

Madam Sphinx in the gardens across from the Louvre
L'Arc de Triomphe, after many shots trying to get one without vehicles!

A couple blocks away from the Eiffel Tower

Me in front of the Eiffel Tower

The bathroom sink is substituting for a salad bowl in the hotel room billed hostel

Wall bordering on the ring road highway around Paris
Startling contrast from Switzerland where the mountains jut from the ground and tower with snowy peaks.

An overcast day in Interlaken

A lonely tree seen while hiking in the Alps

Cabins in the mist

Snowy Alp peak

Lichen, a symbiotic relationship between fungus and algae/cyanobacteria

Spider oh spider where have you gone?

I found a monk while hiking

This image brings new light to "the fog rolling in"

Mountain plants. I <3 them.

Me near Marchegg

Able to see above and below the cloud layer!
